To Disrupt Education: Pitt Students for a Democratic Society

Pitt Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) has only existed on Pitt’s campus for six months but its name is infused with 60 years of history that includes the Civil Rights Movement, the Columbia Protests and the Weather Underground. Today, Pitt SDS is an organization dedicated to engaging in and training others to carry out disruptive protests on Pitt’s campus that threaten to disrupt the education process. At the same time it is engaging in behavior that disrupts education, Pitt SDS is a University-recognized student organization with access to University resources.
